U.S. International Taxation: Foreign Currency Translation and Transactions

Description:
U.S. companies with foreign operations must restate in U.S. dollars the results of its foreign operations. This course covers the rules for translating foreign currencies into US dollars, including any gains and losses that might arise from such translations.

In addition, this course covers the taxation of gains and losses arising from "Sec. 988 transactions": (a) lending or borrowing funds pursuant to a debt instrument; (b) accruing receivables and payables when the receivable or payable will be satisfied at a future date; and (c) the disposition of a foreign currency option, forward, or futures contracts.
