The massive 2009 Recovery Act was signed in February 2009 to help jump-start the U.S. economy . The 2009 Recovery Act provides tax breaks to encourage business spending, the hiring of veterans and disconnected youth, the development and production of alternative energy, and more.
The Act provides temporary COBRA premium assistance to individuals and gives employers a payroll tax credit in return. Bonus depreciation, Code Sec. 179 expensing, and the extended NOL carryback are three popular incentives that are also affected by the 2009 Recovery Act and can help businesses during the current economic slowdown.This course covers these and other tax incentives provided in the 2009 Recovery Act, as well as pending legislation involving corporate estimated taxes and international business taxes.
