Quality Control and Peer Review

Perry M. Henderson

This course covers two significant documents: Statement on Quality Control Standards No. 7, "A Firm's System of Quality Control" (SQCS 7) and the Proposed Revisions to the AICPA Standards for Performing and Reporting on Peer Reviews (PRP).

SQCS 7 contains numerous changes to existing practice and the proposed PRP address the perceived call for "transparency" in the peer review process. This course reviews each document, summarizing their unconditional and presumptively mandatory requirements, the definitions they spell out, and provisions of each that have been politically charged.
