California Tax: Crackdown on Abusive Tax Shelters

CCH Editorial Staff

California is following the federal government in cracking down on abusive tax shelters and tax avoidance schemes. Many new California provisions mirror changes made to the federal law by AJCA.

However, there are differences remaining between California and federal law. Some of the new federal provisions under AJCA already exist in the California law while others will not be applicable in California without additional state legislation.

California Tax: Crackdown on Abusive Tax Shelters provides an explanation of abusive tax shelters, providing guidance for tax practitioners about current provisions enacted by California to combat tax shelter abuses.
