Corporate Income Tax Refresher Course Part 1: Introduction to Form 1120 (2005 Edition)

This is the first in a series of courses on Form 1120 preparation. All of the courses in this series have been fully updated to reflect recent legislative changes, including the many significant changes from the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004.

This first course provides an overview of the filing requirements for the 2004 Form 1120, and instructions for completing the general information portion of the return. Important practical pointers and observations are integrated to help practitioners maximize planning opportunities and avoid potential problems.

Specifically, this course reviews: the nature of the return; the role of the preparer; filing requirements; due dates and extensions; requirements for consolidated returns, personal holding companies and personal service corporations; accounting methods; tax year requirements and Schedule K.
