This is the eighth and final course in a series on Form 1040 preparation. All of the courses in this series have been fully updated to reflect recent legislative changes, including the many significant changes from the Working Families Tax Relief Act of 2004 and the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004.

Tax Credits and Estimated Tax Rules details which tax credits reduce a taxpayer's liability below zero (creating a refund) and which do not. It also clarifies the process for estimating quarterly tax payments in order to avoid underpayment penalties, while not overpaying quarterly taxes.
